Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 from Decca Records. It has received a lot of praise from blogs and the press. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was made for an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry's endorsement of the song Runaway in a blog post brought the singer additional appreciation. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a career or hobby but as a way to develop. She began writing her own songs. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as her main influences. In response to her mother's advice that her children shouldn't be trying to become famous with the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them and their impact on society. The mother of her child suggested that she sing her songs in public so that people can see their importance and the ways they impact the world. Her family didn't have any idea about it until she reached the age of 14. Aurora has never imagined becoming a star. The singer claims she is a fan of creating music. She says that music is her preferred method to feel anything.
