Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter as well as mixed martial artist competing in the flyweight division within the UFC. She is the elder sister of another fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as an Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller on a unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko won a second gold medal in 2007 she was awarded a bronze medal in 2008 and a gold in 2011, and then was named the 2016. IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003, and she won in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and then the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko made the professional MMA record in 2002 during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won the second-round TKO fight and her subsequent two games in the WXF: X-Impact World Championships which resulted in her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 when she fought Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui with a unanimous decision. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in an unanimous vote. She left in 2018 the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability when she clinched by her knees against her body. The result was that Antonina received an UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious through a unanimous win, however she fell in her following fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss with a win over Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler with a back-naked choke. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in her subsequent three bouts. She defeated Ariane Lipski, and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
