Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. She is also known for her roles in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four siblings. As a young girl, Delaney hoped to become a reporter for the court. But in highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled by a myriad of TV films and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional one has nt had a happy and successful. The actress, who is skilled and stunning, has had to battle alcoholism prior to that. She has also had marriages that ended in failure twice. Her custody was taken away from her son in the year 2005.
